LUBBOCK, Texas - NCAA Baseball Committee chairman Dick Rockwell announced today that Texas Tech has been selected to host a regional for the 1999 NCAA Baseball Championship. This marks the third time in the last four years that Tech has been chosen to host regional competition (1996, 1997, 1999). The regional will take place at Dan Law Field beginning Fri., May 28, through Sun., May 30.

Tech was one of 16 sites selected to host a regional this year. Twenty-nine bids were submitted for the 1999 regionals.

Participants in the regional won't be available until they are announced live on ESPN on Mon., May 24, at 2 p.m.

Texas Tech also has bid to host a super-regional, which will be announced on Mon., May, 31.
