OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Juniors Roger Kieschnick and Willie Rueda were Texas Tech Baseball's lone selections to the 2008 All-Big 12 teams that were announced earlier today by the league coaches.

Roger Kieshcnick, a junior right fielder and native of Rockwall, picked up second team honors as an outfielder and marks the third-straight season that he has earned an All-Big 12 honor. He was named the Big 12 Freshman of the Year in 2006 as well as a first team selection in the outfield and then picked up second team honors last year as a sophomore. Kieschnick finished the season with a .305 batting average, 15 doubles, 65 RBIs and a league-best 17 home runs.

Willie Rueda, a junior second baseman from El Paso, was the final Red Raider to be honored by the Big 12 as he picked up honorable mention honors. Rueda was undoubtedly the team's most valuable player in 2008 as he led the squad with a .361 average along with 14 doubles, three triples, 33 RBIs and a league-best 27 stolen bases. This marks the second time in his career that he picked up honorable mention honors as he earned the same distinction back in 2006 (freshman season).

Texas Tech ended its 2008 season with a 25-30 overall record and tied for ninth place in the Big 12 with a 9-18 mark.
