Wright Selected to Louisville Slugger All America First Team

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech junior pitcher Shane Wright (Topeka, Kansas) was named to the TPX Louisville Slugger Collegiate Baseball All America First Team, Collegiate Baseball announced Thursday. Wright was selected as one of four pitchers selected to the First Team which included Fresno State's Jeff Weaver, Southern California's Seth Etherton and Stanford's Jeff Austin.

Texas Tech also had two players selected to the All America Third Team including sophomore catcher Josh Bard (Englewood, Colo.) and senior second baseman Keith Ginter (Fullerton, Calif.). Both were named to the Preseason All America Collegiate Baseball Team.

Wright's statistics at the time of the release include a 13-1 record and 2.76 ERA in 17 games started, 12 complete games, three saves, 143.6 innings, 162 hits and only 20 with 108 strikeouts. Bard is batting .389 (98-252) with 53 runs, 22 doubles, two triples, 16 home runs, 67 RBI and 13 walks while Ginter is batting .389 (84-216) with 96 runs, 24 doubles, 17 home runs, 55 RBI and 77 bases on balls.
