OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - The Texas Tech baseball program provided assistance on Wednesday in support of the tornado relief efforts following the devastating tornado that went through Moore, Okla., just two days earlier - which is just 10 miles south of Oklahoma City, host site of the Big 12 Baseball Championship.
The Red Raiders went to Goodwill in Oklahoma City to help organize, sort and separate donated items that would eventually be provided to individuals and families in need of assistance in Moore and its surrounding areas.
The 27 Red Raider players, coaches and support staff spent two hours helping at the Goodwill location and then took to the road to travel south on I-35 to see exactly what damage had happened to the local area following the F5 tornado that exceeded 200 MPH and was two miles in width on Monday afternoon.
