Texas Tech to Host Baseball Regional May 23, 1999 LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech baseball team will find out which three teams will come to Lubbock for this weekend's NCAA baseball regional (May 28-30) as the entire 64-team NCAA baseball regional bracket will be announced live on ESPN at 2 p.m. CT. The Red Raiders will gather as a team at 50th Street Caboose, located at the corner of Slide and 50th Street, to watch the live broadcast. KKAM's Mark Finkner and Ryan Hyatt will broadcast live on KKAM (1340). Texas Tech (40-15) was one of 16 schools selected to host an NCAA baseball regional this weekend. The 16 regional sites include Auburn, Alabama, Wichita State, Houston, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Baylor, Arkansas, Stanford, Notre Dame, Southern California, Florida State, Miami, Fla., Wake Forest, Ohio State and LSU. Winners of the 16 double elimination regionals will play in eight Super Regionals. Teams will be paired together for best two-of-three series as winners receive a berth to Omaha, Nebraska and the College World Series. All four teams will all practice at Dan Law Field on Thursday. The games begin on Friday at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Game times for the games have yet to be determined and will be determined at a later date. Individual game tickets for the tournament are $10 for adults and $5 for children. An all-tournament pass is available for $50.
