LUBBOCK, Texas - On a tour through 143 college baseball stadiums across the country, Stadium Journey (www.stadiumjourney.com) recently announced its 2013 College Baseball Ballpark Rankings while listing Texas Tech's Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park as the 19th best college ballpark in the country.
The home of Red Raider baseball was critiqued by Paul Donaldson who evaluated Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park on its food and beverage, atmosphere, neighborhood, fans, access, return on investment and extras that the ballpark offered.
The reviews were extremely positive for the two-year old ballpark that received a $5 million major renovation prior to the 2012 season to make Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park (4,368 capacity) one of the finest on-campus facilities in all of college baseball.
Tech's major renovation included 10 luxury suites, press box with radio and television broadcast booths along with a club level that overlooks the playing surface with outdoor seating for 75 individuals.
Additional highlights also included a shading structure that covers the area in the center portion of the grandstands, the addition of 1,154 char-back seats and tensioned back-stop netting that provides an unobstructed view of the field.
