Catching Up with Barrett Barnes|
Nov. 30, 2012
It wasn't long ago when Barrett Barnes was putting up historical numbers as a member of the Texas Tech baseball team.
In fact, Barnes, who just completed his first minor league season in the Pirates organization this past summer, was just the second Red Raider ever to be selected in the first round (supplemental) of the Major League Baseball First-Year Players Draft. The Pittsburgh Pirates drafted Barnes No. 45 overall on June 4.
Barnes finished his three-year career at Tech batting .319 (203-for-637) in 169 career games with 171 runs, 51 doubles, nine triples, 33 home runs, 140 RBI and 50-of-56 stolen bases.
Barnes talked with Texas Tech's Brandon Rawe about his first pro season, his career at Texas Tech and what is next for the former Red Raider in professional baseball.
