Dec. 22, 2010
LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech baseball program announced 18 student-athletes earned academic honor roll status during the 2010 fall semester.
Among the 18 active Red Raiders that tallied at least a 3.0 grade point average for the fall, 10 earned Dean's List status (3.50-3.99 GPA) while three recorded a perfect 4.0 GPA.
"We are very proud of the academic success that our players have achieved this semester," head coach Dan Spencer said. "We pride ourselves on the work that we put into the classroom, just like the hard work and dedication that we invest on the playing field."
Sophomore right-handed pitcher Joe Burnett earned Dean's List recognition for the third straight semester while redshirt-junior right-handed pitcher Brennan Stewart also earned Dean's List recognition for the third consecutive semester.
Redshirt-junior left-handed pitcher Zach Fowler tallied at least a 3.0 GPA for the third straight term while senior third baseman Nick Popescu, a 2010 Academic All-Big 12 second team pick, earned his second honor roll recognition.
Overall there were 14 baseball student-athletes who made the honor roll for the first time, 13 of those coming from players who spent their first semester at Texas Tech as a baseball student-athlete this fall.
