COACH JAMES DICKEY ON BRODNEY KENNARD
Brodney worked hard in the off-season and added strength and bulk to his frame. He is a good athlete and we feel that his improvement will benefit our ball club.

JUNIOR (1998-99)
Started nine conference games ... fourth-leading rebounder on the team, grabbing 4.3 boards per game ... averaged 3.8 points per game ... grabbed career-high 11 rebounds against Nevada ... very active around the basket ... recorded three blocks against Texas-San Antonio ... scored 12 points against UTSA and grabbed five rebounds against SMU ... second on the team, shooting .557 from the field on 39-of-70 in field goals on the season ... blocked three shots against No. 24 Kansas, including a crucial swat late in the game .. blocked two shots before getting two teeth knocked out at Texas from an inadvertent elbow ... underwent oral surgery and had teeth wired in ... plays with a protective mouthpiece ... blocked three shots at Oklahoma State ... had five points and four boards in tournament loss to Nebraska.

JUNIOR COLLEGE
Averaged 9.9 points and 8.1 rebounds in his sophomore season at Tyler Junior College...transferred to Tyler JC after playing one season at Wisconsin-Milwaukee...played at Fort Worth Southwest, where Texas Tech teammate Johnny Phillips also prepped...averaged 20 points and 13 rebounds as a senior, 18 points and 10 boards as a junior...all-city and all-district final two seasons...

WISCONSIN-MILWAUKEE
Played in eight games for UWM as a rookie in 1996-97...averaged 2.4 points and 2.8 rebounds in a reserve role...averaged 10 minutes in those eight contests.

HIGH SCHOOL
Averaged 20 points and 13 rebounds as a senior for Fort Worth Southwest High School...tallied 18 points and 10 rebounds as a junior...named all-city and all-district both years...was only 5-foot-10 his freshman season and was cut from the freshman team...grew to 6-foot-5 and started for the varsity...played in the Tops in Texas Basketball Shootout after senior season...also recruited by New Mexico.
