Junior (2006-2007)

Started 33 of 34 games as a junior...averaged 35.6 minutes per game...played 35 (or more) minutes per game in 25 games-including 40 minutes in nine games and 47 minutes in the double-overtime game at OSU...averaged 16.6 ppg as a junior --2nd highest on team and ranked 9th in the Big 12 Conference...led the Red Raiders in FG percentage (.495) and was sixth in the conference...shot .500 (or better) 22 times...Martin's .791 FT percentage (178-of-225) was first on the team and ranked sixth in the conference...perfect from the free throw line in 12 games (50-for-50) during the year...sank 13-of-14 attempts in the win at home over Texas A&M...scored double figures in 30 games with 10 games of 20 or more points...registered three double-doubles during the season...leading rebounder on the squad with 5.3 rpg...had four games with 10 or more rebounds and 11 rebounds in three different games...led the team with 109 assists...second on the team with 43 steals...ranks sixth on the Big 12 career list in free throws made with 416...NABC All-District (9) Second Team...All-Big 12 Third Team.

Played his first game in the season opener against UNC-Asheville...in 20 minutes Martin scored 10 points, had 4 steals, 4 assists, grabbed 3 rebounds, made all 4 FT attempts, and 3-of-9 FG attempts...played in 33 games during his first season...started 26 games...averaged 32 minutes-per-game for the season - including 50 minutes against Kansas in Tech's 80-79 double-overtime win...his 167 FT attempts was tops for the Red Raiders...made his first 16 FT attempts ...shot 167 free throws during the season and was successful on 126 tries - both tops for the 2004-2005 squad...perfect from the free-throw line in 7 games (31-of-31)...scored in double-figures in 24 games...had 11 games of at least 15 points...season high of 24 points against Kansas...his 37 steals were second to Ronald Ross's 86 steals...had 4 steals against UNC-Asheville...second on the team with 112 assists...had 4 or more assists in 15 games and a season-best of 8 assists against Baylor...Big 12 Rookie of the Week (Dec. 6)...selected to the CollegeInsider.com 2004-2005 Freshmen All-America Team.

High School

The 6-foot-5 senior averaged 27 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game...led the Sulphur Golden Tors to the state basketball tournament for the first time since 1962...selected to the All-State team and named MVP on the 2003-2004 Class 5A All-State squad by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association...played for Clint LeBato (named 2003-2004 Coach of the Year by LSWA)...team finished 38-4 for the season and lost a controversial decision to state champion Brother Martin in the Top 28 Tournament semifinals, 57-56 ...named District 3-5A MVP as a sophomore and as a senior...saw limited action as a junior due to a wrist injury...Golden Tors starter for four seasons at Sulphur...Louisiana state champion in 400 meter dash with a time of 48.54 seconds...finished third in the long jump with a leap of 23' 11"...inducted into the Southwest Louisiana High School Sports Hall of Fame.
