Texas Tech Red Raiders vs. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi|
Jan. 2, 2011
On the play of Texas Tech at the beginning of the second half - "I thought we started the game flat but came alive with a few steals and two quick baskets. That's when I noticed our energy level improve."
On playing the point guard position - "It's like I said after the New Mexico game, I stayed here for both sessions of summer school and just worked on my ball handling and how to play the point guard position."
On Texas Tech's defensive play - "Even though we started slowly, I thought our defense kept us in the game. Once we got a few steals our production on offense improved and our defense stayed solid for the whole game."
Texas Tech Head Coach Pat Knight
Playing today after a tough loss in the last game - "We've put together some good basketball in the last three games. We're disappointed with the New Mexico outcome, but we played well against UTA, New Mexico, and today against Corpus Christi. I thought our defense was very good today - especially in the first half."
One more nonconference game - "We've had good practices during the break. Tomorrow, we'll walk-through in the morning and do some shooting so everyone is fresh for Delaware State. I'm looking for carry-over from our effort over these last three games and from the practices we've had during the last few weeks."
On the play of Jaye Crockett and Javarez Willis - "I thought Jaye Crockett and Javarez Willis came off the bench and made good contributions today. Jaye scored some points, blocked six shots, and worked hard to get his rebounds. Javarez handled the ball well, made a couple of steals, and had four nice assists. It was a good game for both of them."
