Texas Tech Falls to Baylor, 75-48
Jordan Tolbert was held to six points after five straight games in double figures. February 9, 2013
WACO, Texas (AP) - Cory Jefferson scored six of his 15 points in Baylor's big game-turning run and grabbed 10 rebounds as the Bears snapped a three-game losing streak with a 75-48 victory over Texas Tech on Saturday. Pierre Jackson scored 15 points, while Isaiah Austin also had a double-double (13 points, 13 rebounds), for the Bears (15-8, 6-4 Big 12), who avoided their first four-game losing streak in four years. Jamal Williams' eight points were the most for Texas Tech (9-12, 2-8), which has lost four in a row. With no Red Raider in double figures, it snapped a streak of 220 consecutive games with at least one player in double figures. Baylor went ahead to stay with a 15-0 run in the first half in which Brady Heslip hit two 3-pointers and Jackson made another from long range. The Red Raiders missed 10 consecutive shots during that 5-minute stretch. Tech then missed its first 10 shots in the second half, while the Bears opened with a 16-1 run to go ahead 53-26.
