Colorado Head Coach Tad Boyle

On the win against Texas Tech - "Well there is something about our team and three point games, I don't know what it is but we sure are in a bunch of them. I think our experience in them helped us tonight. I love winning the game on defense. I like not fouling. We talked about the possibility of fouling, but we talked about playing out a defensive possession. If we were playing good and we did, that was the name of the game."

On the last few defensive possessions of the game - "I said if they are dribbling around and they have a wide open look then we can foul but if we were switching every screen, every down screen, every ball screen, every flare screen. We were just going to switch everything. We had an athletic line-up in there so it didn't necessarily make it a no-brainer but that's what we decided to do. My thing is as long as you contesting a jump shot, if you get beat with that then you get beat with that. So it was just a great defensive possession by all our guys at that time."

On what this game does for Colorado's confidence - "It helped a lot. I think we've grown up and played better down the stretch than we did against Baylor. This was a 14-point lead at half, and we were up 14 against Baylor and they made a run back and we didn't handle it well. Tonight we handled it well, and kept our composure and got stops when we needed stops. They made some shots. The three that Brad Reese hit when we were up by five was a big shot and they got an offensive rebound and got to the line. Cory (Higgins) fouled out which was reason we didn't want to go into overtime. It was a great road win for our program, and the reason it was a great road win for our program is that Texas Tech is playing so well right now. They really are. Roberson is a great player and Singletary played well for them. They present many problems. I know their record may not say they are a great team, but they are a dangerous team the way they play."

Texas Tech player quotes

John Roberson

On getting motivated for the second half - "We are seniors and this is one of our last home games. We tried and we didn't get it done, that's the bottom line."

Mike Singletary

On getting coming out strong the second half - "John and I sat in the locker room and looked at each other. We're pretty much the captains and we've been here the longest. The team pretty much runs through us, so I just told them we are not losing this game. We have two home games left. So we came out with a lot of energy the second half and we just didn't do some of the little things to close it out."

On the last play of the game - "We tried to get the ball in John's hands. He's made big shots before and they switched a lot and denied him a little bit. We could've gotten a better shot, but it is what it is."

Texas Tech Head Coach Pat Knight

On coming out flat the first half - "I don't know if they were still thinking of the Baylor game. We seemed to go back to playing as we did in the preseason. It was flat, guys were playing one-on-one, taking bad shots, we shot 25 percent in the first half, you're not going to beat many people like that. It was awful, but the funny thing was the defense wasn't really that bad. It was really disappointing that we came out like that and then we came out and got it turned around the second half."

On the last offensive possession - "Well, we wanted to put all guards in the game. We didn't want anybody in the game that wasn't a three-point shooter. I knew they were going to do some switching. We could get a quick two, if you have it. But with them switching and the clock running out you end up having to get a three so you don't want any non three-point shooters in there. We got a decent look and we could've penetrated a little better. But we got a look at the basket. I didn't want to have a non three-point shooter take last second shot. That's happened before and I didn't want it to happen again."

On the first half - "That was the worst first half I've seen all year from an offensive stand point so anything would've been better."

On the second half - "I was happy with it, you could put it up against any half we've had this year. That was a good offensive half of basketball."
