Texas Tech players
On the strong start by Tech
We just knew they were a good team and we couldn't start out slow because the last time against St. Mary's we were down by 20 at half. We knew that we needed to pick up on defense, get in the passing lanes and work our offense for baskets.
On the learning experience of playing Oral Roberts
It was a great learning experience because we learned you can't always come out and play just the second half you have to put two halves together.
On his performance vs. Oral Roberts
I was just playing my role and trying to do the little things to make this team as successful as it can be, and tonight it just happened that I had a big time game.
On getting offensive rebounds
That is something I haven't been doing much of the last couple of games and I needed to get back to it.
On getting 29 points I just felt like myself in general and was taking what came to me.
On playing Washington They are a well-coached team and they are going to be ready to play. We know they have great players and they are going to be tough to handle.
It's real nice. It's been a long time coming for them. They've put in the work to come back from their injuries. They put in some solid minutes and the biggest thing Coop did was just be himself. He's going to be a great asset to our team. D'walyn came out and played well. He got some boards. I don't think anyone expected them to be right on track because they haven't really played the last couple of weeks.
On how Tech played vs. Oral Roberts
They (ORU) shot a better percentage than we did, and the two things that have been killing us all year, free throws and rebounds actually won this game for us. That's a testament to how hard we've worked because those are just hustle things.

On Tech's win vs. Oral Roberts
We are happy with a win. I know it wasn't pretty. But, sometimes you have to hug ugly. Everyone wants to hug pretty, but I'll hug ugly anytime it gets us a win. After losing two in a row, coming back, and fighting the way we did and not quitting was good for our players.
On Tech's overall performance vs. Oral Roberts
It was another one with a bunch of spurts. The whole game was up and down. We relaxed too much. We played great defense great for five minutes then we committed fouls and put ORU on the free throw line. I still didn't like some of our defensive play, but there were still some good moments where we played well defensively.
On Roberson hitting free throws
Those were huge. Free throws have been a problem for us, but it's been good the last couple of games because we've finally been making those shots. However, we still need to improve our free throw shooting as a team.
