LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) - Jaye Crockett came off the bench to scored 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead Texas Tech to a 75-69 win over Northern Kentucky Tuesday night.

Crockett has now led the Red Raiders in scoring in five consecutive games. Josh Gray added 14 points for Texas Tech (5-1).

Crockett is the nation's fifth leading sixth man scorer among the big six conferences and the top rebounder in the major conference sixth men. He is averaging 15.2 points and 8.4 rebounds a night.

Gray became the first man since Rick Bullock in 1972 to begin his Texas Tech career by scoring 10 points or more in five of his first six games as a Red Raider.

Trency Jackson added 12 points and Dejan Kravic added 10 points and six rebounds for the Red Raiders.

Eshaunte Jones led the Norse (0-6) with 16 points, going 4 of 7 from behind the 3-point line. Tyler White added 14 points, while Jack Flournoy and Chad Jackson added 13.

The Red Raiders built an 11-point lead, with a 14-0 run early in the first half, but allowed the Norse to close it to five just after halftime.

The Red Raiders responded with a 15-0 run early in the second half, which put them ahead by 20 points. The Norse cut the lead to as few as six points in the final minute but weren't able to completely close the gap.

The win equalled the mark of the fourth best start by a first-year head coach for Chris Walker at Texas Tech. Bob Knight had the best start in progrma history (13-1), followed by Gene Gibson (8-1), Pat Knight (7-1) and James Dickey (5-1).
