Texas Tech Routs Lousiana Tech, 86-31

LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) -- Martin Zeno scored 16 points to help lead Texas Tech to an 86-31 win over Louisiana Tech Wednesday night.
Texas Tech (6-3) outscored the Bulldogs 46-3 from midway through the first half to midway through the second half, going up by as many as 45 during the run.
Louisiana Tech (1-5) did not hit a single field goal for more than 19 minutes while turning the ball over 19 times. Louisiana Tech's 31 points were the fewest by a Texas Tech opponent since the Red Raiders beat Hardin-Simmons 53-32 in 1948.
Texas Tech jumped out to a 22-12 lead midway through the first half after Louisiana Tech had closed the lead to two points. It was the last time the Bulldogs would hit a basket in the first half. The Red Raiders hit 12 of their next 20 shots to go into halftime with a 41-12 lead, outscoring Louisiana Tech 21-0 in the final 10 minutes of the opening half.
Keith Smith led the Bulldogs with nine points. Louisiana Tech shot 22 percent from the field overall, the lowest by a Texas Tech opponent since Centenary shot 25 percent against the Red Raiders in 2004.
The Bulldogs finished with 21 turnovers.
Texas Tech shot 55 percent from the field after shooting 46 percent in last week's 70-66 loss to Centenary. All 11 Red Raiders that played in the game hit at least one field goal.
The 55-point win tied Texas Tech's fourth-highest margin of victory (109-54 against Northern Montana in 1978).
