Today’s starters for Texas Tech were Trency Jackson, Dusty Hannahs, Josh Gray, Dejan Kravic and Jordan Tolbert. This is the fourth different starting lineup in 10 games for the Red Raiders. It was Tolbert’s 39th career start, while Gray made his 10 career start. Kravic started for the ninth time, while Jackson made his eighth career start and Hannahs his second.
Junior Dejan Kravic (22 points), freshman Dusty Hannahs (21) and junior Jay Crockett (20) each netted 20 points against North Carolina A&T. It marked the first time since March 2, 2002, that three Red Raiders scored 20 points in the same game. Andy Ellis (28 points), Andre Emmett (27 points) and Kasib Powell (25 points) did it in a 91-89 win against Baylor in Waco.
Junior Dejan Kravic’s career-high 22 points led the Red Raiders in scoring against North Carolina A&T. For the first time since the first game of the season someone other than Jaye Crockett led the team in scoring. It snapped a string of eight straight games that Crockett had led the team in scoring. Kravic was 11 of 14 from the field and pulled down six rebounds. He also had three assists, two blocks and two steals.
Junior Jaye Crockett recorded 14 rebounds against North Carolina A&T to lead the Red Raiders. It was the ninth consecutive game he has led the team in rebounding. It also timed his career high. He had 14 against Oklahoma State (01/31/12) and Grambling State (11/20/12). He has 10 career double-digit rebounding games and eight career double-doubles, including five this season.
Junior Jaye Crockett improved his Sixth Man numbers on Friday night by recording 20 points and pulling down 14 rebounds. It raised his season averages to 16.2 points per game and 9.4 rebounds per game. He leads all Sixth Men in the Big Six conferences in both categories. It was also the fourth 20-point game of the season for Crockett.
Freshman Dusty Hannahs recorded a career-high 21 points against North Carolina A&T. He had career highs in 10 categories, as he made his second career start. Hannahs was 7-of-12 from the field and 4-of-8 from beyond the arc, while adding four rebounds and two assists.
Texas Tech had a season-high 18 assists, as the Red Raiders connected on 32 of 66 shots from the field, thanks in large part to a second-half surge that saw Texas Tech go 19-of-33 from the field (57.6 percent).
With its 85-74 win, Texas Tech has eclipsed 75 points for the seventh time this season. The Red Raiders only reached 75 points twice last season. The Red Raiders are currently averaging 77.1 points per game.
Texas Tech recorded 49 rebounds against North Carolina A&T. It is the most rebounds for the Red Raiders since recording 52 rebounds against Missouri on Jan. 30, 2010.
For the fourth straight game, Texas Tech struggled from the 3-point line, hitting just 4 of 16 treys. Over the last four games, the Red Raiders are 13-65 (20 percent).
