LUBBOCK, Texas — Camp dates are set for the 2014 Tubby Smith Basketball Camps scheduled for June.
Smith is scheduled to have four different camps this year, including a Father/Son Camp on June 13-14 at United Spirit Arena.
Smith, whose three sons all played Division I basketball, believes in the bond between the father and the son. His two-day camp focuses on enhancing that bond, as well as improving their basketball skills.
The individual overnight camp is slated for June 15-18 and is open to kindergarteners through the 12th grade. This four-day, three-night camp is an intense week of instruction, development, competition and entertainment, while experiencing the overnight environment of Texas Tech.
Tubby Smith Day Camp is slated from June 23-26. This camp is focused on developing individual skills of the campers. Day Camp is open to all skill levels and is focused on creating a positive learning environment.
Tubby Smith Team Camp is scheduled for June 27-29 at United Spirit Arena. Team Camp is focused on creating a competitive environment and focusing on improving your team. There will be instruction, demonstrations and discussions from Smith and the Texas Tech coaching staff.

Tubby Smith Father/Son Camp • June 13-14
(all ages are welcome) Check-in and registration begins on Friday at 4 p.m.
Coach Smith invites fathers and sons to an overnight camp together. This two-day, one-night camp will focus on enhancing their bond as father and son, and help improve their basketball skills. A son may enroll in the father/son camp with a male guardian or friend of the family. On Saturday, campers will be dismissed at 2pm following an award ceremony.
Tubby Smith Overnight Camp • June 15-18
(K-12) Resident Sunday, 4 p.m. – Wednesday, Noon
Coach Smith and his staff show campers a glimpse of college life. This four-day, three-night camp will prove an intense week of basketball instruction, development, competition and entertainment. Campers will stay in an air-conditioned dorm on the campus of Texas Tech University. On the last day of camp, campers will be dismissed at noon.
Tubby Smith Day Camp • June 23-26
(K-12) Monday-Wednesday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Thursday, 9 a.m. – Noon
A four-day camp geared to develop and improve campers’ individual basketball skills. The camp is open to all ability levels and will provide a positive and fun teaching environment for all campers. Each day will include intense skill instruction from Texas Tech staff and players. The camp hours are 9am – 5pm. On the last day of camp, campers will be dismissed at 12pm following an awards ceremony. Campers should bring their own lunch each day. The camp store will be available for snacks and drinks.
Tubby Smith Team Camp • June 27-29
Friday: Check-in begins at Noon.
Team Camp will be held at Texas Tech University. The camp will provide competitive experience and all games will be officiated by experienced referees. Coach Smith and the Texas Tech staff will provide demonstrations and discussions on improvement for your team. Each team must have an adult coach with them at all times and must provide their own transportation to and from games.
