The Red Raiders will look to snap a four-game losing streak as it hosts No. 17/16 Oklahoma State. The last time Texas Tech was mired in a four-game skid, it upset Iowa State at United Spirit Arena on ESPNU. Oklahoma State will be the eighth RPI Top 50 opponent in the last 10 games. Texas Tech has run the gauntlet against RPI Top 50 teams - Baylor (45), Kansas (3), Oklahoma (21), OSU (38), Iowa State (37), Kansas State (24), Baylor (46) and OSU (28). This is the 53rd all-time meeting between Texas Tech and Oklahoma State, with the Cowboys holding the edge, 38-14, including five straight. Texas Tech is averaging 69.0 possessions per game and 0.96 points per possession, while Oklahoma State is averaging 68.6 possessions and 1.04 points per possession. The Red Raiders have gone down a full possession per game, while the Cowboys have increased a possession per game since the last time the two teams met. Last season, Texas Tech averaged 0.92 points per possession. Last time out against Baylor, Texas Tech failed to have a player score in double figures for the first time since Feb. 20, 2007. It snaps a string of 220 consecutive games with at least one player in double figures. Texas Tech is looking to win three Big 12 games for the first time since 2011. Texas Tech finished the non-conference portion of its schedule 7-4. It was the longest homestand in program history at 11 games. In all, Texas Tech will host a record 20 home games this season. What a difference a day makes. The Red Raiders are 8-3 during weekday games and 1-9 in games played on the weekend. Jaye Crockett is one of the nation's top Sixth Men in the Power Six conferences in terms of scoring (12.0 points) and rebounding (7.0 rebounds). Crockett has led the team in scoring 11 times this season.
The Red Raiders have three players averaging close to 10 points per game - Jordan Tolbert (9.4), Dejan Kravic (9.2) and Josh Gray (9.0).
