Alfred J. Caviel and Billie McQueen Caviel

Alfred J. Caviel and Billie McQueen Caviel attended Texas Southern University School of Pharmacy in Houston, Texas. They attended TSU from 1953-1957 where they received a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy. They passed the State Board of Pharmacy examination and became Registered Pharmacists enabling them to practice pharmacy in Texas and other states.

They married in 1957, moved to Lubbock and began working at Triple S Drugs downtown, which was at Texas and Main Street.In 1960, Triple S Drugs closed, so it was then when they opened their own pharmacy in Dr. R. A. Pillow’s (a dentist) waiting room. Soon thereafter, they purchased Evans Drugs and changed the name to Caviel’s Pharmacy, where it remained until June 5, 2009.

Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Caviel are the parents of Adrienne Caviel Holmes (Pharmacist), Lisa Caviel Patterson (teacher), Jasper Caviel (deceased), Stacy Caviel-Watson (teacher/administrator), Alfred James Caviel Jr. (Pharmacist) and Bryce Caviel (Psychologist) and twelve grandchildren.
