Texas Tech vs. Oklahoma on Saturday

Lubbock, TX - The Texas Tech Red Raiders host the Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday afternoon at 3 PM in the United Spirit Arena. The game will be televised on ESPN Plus. Bob Carpenter will call the play-by-play. Paul Splittorff will provide the game analysis.
Mark Finkner will call the courtside action along with Corky Oglesby as analyst on the Texas Tech Sports Network local stations KQBR-FM 99.5 and KKAM-AM 1340. Sirius Radio will broadcast the game on Channel 107.
Texas Tech and Oklahoma are meeting for the 43rd time since the series began on December 27, 1944. Overall, OU leads the series, 26-16. Texas Tech leads the series 10-8 when the teams have played in Lubbock. OU has a 16-5 margin in Norman and a 2-1 edge on neutral courts. In the 2006-2007 season, each team won on their home court. In Norman, the Sooners won 75-61 while the Red Raiders won in Lubbock, 68-54. In the 2007-2008 season, the Sooners won the January 19 meeting in Norman, 63-61.
Texas Tech opened the 2007-2008 conference season with a loss on the road on January 12 to Oklahoma, 74-55. The Red Raider squad gave Coach Bob Knight his 900th career win as they dropped # 9/10 Texas A&M on January 16, 68-53. Tech lost a close game at OU, 63-61, on January 19 before topping Missouri, 92-84 at the United Spirit Arena on January 23. The Raiders lost at Texas, 73-47, before dropping Oklahoma State at the United Spirit Arena on February 2, 67-60. After the OSU win, the Raider lost two road games. They lost at Baylor, 80-74, on February 6 and at Nebraska on February 9, 73-62.
Mayor David Miller proclaimed Wednesday, February 13 "Pat Knight Day" as Texas Tech and Lubbock welcomed their thirteenth head coach to his first home
game since taking over the program from Coach Bob Knight on February 4.
And, the Red Raiders earned their 13th win of the season as they gave their
new head coach the first win of his career with the 84-75 victory over Kansas State. KSU entered the game ranked # 18 in the AP poll and # 22 in the ESPN/USA Today poll.
Alan Voskuil led both teams in scoring with 30 points, a career best performance. KSU's Bill Walker led his squad with 27 points as teammate Michael Beasley added 22 points.
OU is 16-8 for the season and 4-5 in conference play. The Sooners completed their non-conference schedule with twelve wins and four losses. They opened conference play with two losses (KSU and KU) before gaining three wins (TT, at BU, and OSU). OU then lost three in a row (at A&M, UT, and at CU) before defeating Iowa State on February 13 by twelve points, 76-64.
The Sooners are averaging 70.8 points per game with Blake Griffin leading his team with 14.9 ppg and 8.5 rebounds per game. Longar Longar is scoring 12.9 ppg and teammate Tony Crocker is averaging 11.3 ppg.
Texas Tech will play at Colorado on February 20 and then return to the United Spirit Arena on Saturday, February 23 for their 12:30 PM (CT) game against Iowa State.
