Red Raiders Host Cyclones on Saturday|

Lubbock, TX - The Texas Tech Red Raiders take on the Cyclones of Iowa State University on Saturday at 12:30 PM (Central Time) at the United Spirit Arena. The game will be telecast on ESPN Plus. Fred White will call the play-by-play. Paul Splittorff will provide the game analysis.
Mark Finkner will call the courtside action along with Corky Oglesby as analyst on the Texas Tech Sports Network local stations KQBR-FM 99.5 and KKAM-AM 1340. Sirius Radio will broadcast the game on Channel 123.
The Cyclones and the Red Raiders are meeting for the sixteenth time since the series began on December 8, 1955. Overall, ISU leads the series, 8-7. Texas Tech leads the series 4-2 when the teams have played in Lubbock. ISU has a 5-2 margin in Ames. Each team has won a neutral site game.
The Red Raiders have won the last three meetings.
On February 20, Texas Tech won their first road game in conference play as they topped Colorado, 87-69. CU's Richard Roby led both teams in scoring with 25 points. Texas Tech had four players in double figures. Alan Voskuil and John Roberson each scored 20 points. Martin Zeno dropped in 14 points and Damir Suljagic registered the first double-double of his career with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Texas Tech opened the 2007-2008 conference season with a loss on the road on January 12 to Oklahoma, 74-55. The Red Raider squad gave Coach Bob Knight his 900th career win as they dropped # 9/10 Texas A&M on January 16, 68-53. Tech lost a close game at OU, 63-61, on January 19 before topping Missouri, 92-84 at the United Spirit Arena on January 23. The Raiders lost at Texas, 73-47, before dropping Oklahoma State at the United Spirit Arena on February 2, 67-60. After the OSU win, the Raider lost two road games. They lost at Baylor, 80-74, on February 6 and at Nebraska on February 9, 73-62.
With less than two seconds remaining in the game, the Red Raiders lost to OU on February 16 on a Sooner desperation shot from twenty-five feet, 66-64.
ISU is 14-12 for the season and 4-7 in conference play. The Cyclones completed their non-conference schedule with ten wins and five losses. They opened conference play with a loss at Baylor before gaining two wins (Missouri and OSU). They then lost at KU and at KSU before beating Colorado, 57-41. The Cyclones then lost four games (at NU, A&M, UT in overtime, and at OU) before stopping Nebraska on February 16, 60-52.
ISU is averaging 64.4 ppg and has three players averaging double figures. Jiri Hubalek leads his team with 13.1 ppg. Wesley Johnson is averaging 13.0 ppg while teammate Craig Brackins is scoring 10.9 ppg.
