TEXAS TECH LOOKS TO SNAP SKID IN WACO
Texas Tech (13-15, 5-10) will look to complete a series sweep against Baylor on Saturday in Waco, as the Red Raiders take on the Bears at 12:47 p.m. at the Ferrell Center. Texas Tech topped then-No. 12 Baylor, 82-72, in Lubbock on Jan. 15. The win snapped a four-game losing streak to the Bears and also snapped a 34-game losing streak to ranked opponents. The Red Raiders are looking to win two straight against Baylor for the first time since the 2004-05 season. Texas Tech is also looking to win six Big 12 games in a season for the first time since 2007-08. With a Red Raider win, coupled with a possible loss by Oklahoma State to Kansas, Texas Tech could move into a tie for seventh place in the Big 12 with Oklahoma State and Baylor. If that happens, Texas Tech would hold the tiebreaker over Baylor and have control of the eighth seed. The Red Raiders are in search of their third true road win of the season. The last time Tech won at least three road games in a season was during the 2006-07 season, when the Red Raiders went 6-6 away from Lubbock. The last time these two teams met, Texas Tech had five players in double figures, led by Jaye Crockett’s 19 points, while Dejan Kravic added 14 points, nine rebounds and six assists.
