Texas Tech Falls, Jayhawks Survive Lubbock 64-63
A layup with two seconds left lifted No. 8 Kansas to a 64-63 win over Texas Tech on Tuesday night.

After falling by one point to No. 8 Kansas (22-7, 13-3) in Lubbock on a last-second shot by Andrew Wiggins, Texas Tech (13-16, 5-11) has its eye on the rematch with the Big 12's first place Jayhawks. But it could be a daunting task, as the Red Raiders are 0-11 all-time in Allen Fieldhouse. The closest Texas Tech has ever come against Kansas, was when the Red Raiders fell to the Jayhawks, 73-67, in 1963. Kansas has defeated Texas Tech by an average margin of  +32 points in the 11 meetings in Lawrence, Kan. But this year, the Red Raiders seemingly had Kansas' number until Wiggins' shot went in.  Texas Tech had won the battle in the paint, 30-24, and committed less turnovers than Kansas (9 to 11) in a game that featured nine tied and 13 lead changes. But in the rematch, Texas Tech is mired in its longest losing streak of the season at five games. In four of the five losses, the Red Raiders have lost by an average of five points. This season, Texas Tech is 1-5 in games decided by five points or less and 5-10 in games decided by 10 points or less. Wednesday's game marks the 13th straight time that the Jayhawks have been ranked when the two teams have met. Texas Tech is 2-10 during that span and look for their first victory over KU since 2009.

•    Texas Tech is also in search of its sixth conference win of the season, which would be the most league wins since 2008.
•    Texas Tech is looking to win 14 games in a season for the first time since 2010.
•    Texas Tech's RPI of 121 and strength of schedule of 48 are the highest for the Red Raiders since finishing the 2009-10 season with an RPI of 66 and a strength of schedule of 17.
•    Jaye Crockett moved past Ronald Ross into 24th on the all-time scoring list at Texas Tech with 1,181 points.

Nationally-ranked Kansas (22-7, 13-3)  has secured its 10th straight Big 12 regular season title. This year also marks the 25th straight season that the Jayhawks have won 20 games in a season. Kansas has also secured a winning season for 32 consecutive seasons. The last time the Jayhawks failed to have a winning record was in 1983 (13-16) under the direction of Ted Owens. Despite having seven losses, the Jayhawks have the No. 2 RPI in the country and the No. 8 ranking in both the AP and Coaches polls. The Jayhawks have the No. 1 strength of schedule in the nation as well. All seven of Kansas' losses are to teams in the RPI Top 42. Kansas is also 14-1 at home this season, with its lone loss coming against No. 10 San Diego State.
