"We think we can make our tournament one of the very finest tournaments in the country," BYU-Hawaii athletic director Ken Wagner said. We plan to make the Pearl Harbor Classic the most unique historical and cultural experience of any tournament in the country."

Texas Tech posted a 13-14 record last season and tied for seventh in the Big 12 Conference with a 7-9 mark. The Red Raiders will feature four returning starters with senior Stan Bonewitz and junior Rayford Young as all-star candidates at guard, junior Cliff Owens at forward and sophomore Johnny Phillips at center.

"We are pleased to be part of the first Pearl Harbor Classic," Dickey said. "BYU-Hawaii has put together a strong and talented field. This will be a great trip for our fans to accompany the Red Raiders and Lady Raiders on the trip to the Islands." (more)
