Texas Tech's Kader Tapsoba recorded 13 points for Burkina Faso against Ivory Coast.

Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire – Texas Tech’s Kader Tapsoba led the Burkina Faso National Team with 13 points and seven rebounds, but it wasn’t enough as the Stallions lost to Ivory Coast, 100-60, in the Round of 16 of the FIBA African Championships on Monday from the Palais des Sports de Treichville.

Tapsoba was 6 of 10 from the field and 1 of 4 from the line and added two assists and three blocks.

In four games at the African Championships, Tapsoba averaged 4.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.8 blocks per game.

Tapsoba, who graduated in May, will return to Lubbock to begin work on a master’s degree and complete his senior season for the Red Raiders following play in the African Championships.
