Texas Tech Announces 2011-12 Basketball Schedule
The Red Raiders begin the Billy Gillispie Era on Nov. 11 against Troy at the United Spirit Arena.

LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech has finalized its 2011-12 men’s basketball schedule, announced Red Raider head coach Billy Gillispie.
In all, the Red Raiders will host 15 games in the United Spirit Arena, including six non-conference games prior to the start of play in the Big 12 Conference.
The season tips off with a doubleheader on Friday, Nov. 11, as the Lady Raiders host New Mexico at 6 p.m., followed by the Red Raiders taking on Troy at 8 p.m.
Then Texas Tech schedule includes games with 2011 postseason participants Indiana State (20-14) and Oral Roberts (19-16), with the potential to either face 2011 NIT participants Fairfield or Dayton in the Old Spice Classic as well. In all, the Red Raiders could face nine teams who played in the postseason in 2011, including six NCAA participants.
The Red Raiders will open the season with a three-game homestand with Troy, North Texas (Nov. 16) and Stephen F. Austin (Nov. 20). Texas Tech will then travel to compete in the Old Spice Classic in Orlando over Thanksgiving.
The start of December is kicked off with a pair of road games to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (Dec. 1) and TCU (Dec. 6), which will be televised by the CBS Sports Network.
Texas Tech closes out the non-conference portion of their schedule with three of their final four games at home against Grambling State (Dec. 18), Cal State-Bakersfield (Dec. 27) and Southeastern Louisiana (Dec. 30). The lone remaining road game is Dec. 22 in Tulsa, Okla., when the Red Raiders face Oral Roberts.
ESPN has also selected the Dec. 30 game with Southeastern Louisiana for broadcast on ESPNU, giving Texas Tech 10 games on the ESPN family of networks. Last season, the Red Raiders were featured on ESPN platforms five times.
