October 27, 2012

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech Athletics is excited to announce new VIP seating for students at Red Raider Basketball games for the 2012-13 season. A limited number of seats close to the court and team bench have been designated for this program.

Student VIP card holders will receive a membership card, lanyard and parking pass in two lots in close proximity to the United Spirit Arena. Seating for VIP card holders will be in sections 113, which is located at half-court and directly behind the scorer's table and 115, which is located behind the opposing team. Seating in these areas will give students the opportunity to be close to our team as well as provide an aggressive home-court advantage.

Only 450 VIP cards and parking passes will be distributed.

VIP card holders are eligible to receive special benefits throughout the year and rewards for attending basketball games. Opportunities for rewards will include drawings for Texas Tech apparel, promotional items and much more.

Students can get a sneak peek of the 2012-13 Red Raiders, under first-year head coach, Chris Walker on Monday beginning at 3:30 p.m. at the United Spirit Arena. Admission is free and complimentary food and soft drinks will be served. Sign-ups for the VIP card will take place at this event and at the first exhibition game on Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. at the United Spirit Arena.

Students will also be encouraged to sign-up for their VIP membership on Nov. 9 at 8 p.m. when the Red Raiders kick off the 2012-13 season against Prairie View A&M.

Sign-ups can also be made online at HERE.

Texas Tech students do not have to be a VIP card holder to attend games.

The Red Raiders return two starters - Jordan Tolbert and Ty Nurse - and three additional letterwinners from last year's squad - Luke Adams, Jaye Crockett, Clark Lammert. Toddrick Gotcher, who received a medical redshirt, also returns to the squad after missing 22 games last season after a foot injury sidelined him for the season.

The team also includes eight new faces to the lineup for this season - Josh Gray, Dusty Hannahs, Trency Jackson, Dejan Kravic, Daylen Robinson, Aaron Ross, Kader Tapsoba and Jamal Williams, Jr. Aaron Ross is sideline for the season with a knee injury, but the other newcomers are expected to contribute.
