LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech announced several changes to its mens and womens basketball schedules for the 1998-99 season to accommodate additional television appearances on Fox Sports Southwest.

The mens basketball game at home against SMU will be played on Thursday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. and will be televised by Fox Sports Net. The Lady Raiders contest against Texas-San Antonio has been moved to Wed., Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. Both games will be played at the Lubbock Municipal Coliseum.

Other mens basketball schedule adjustments for Fox Sports Southwest will be the Jan. 2 game against Baylor moving from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and the Feb. 10 game at Baylor moving from 7 p.m. to 6 p.m. The Red Raider men will also appear on Fox Sports Southwest in their Dec. 8 game at TCU beginning at 7 p.m.

In addition to the Dec. 2 change, The Lady Raiders will appear on television in their last home game in the Lubbock Municipal Coliseum on Feb. 27. The game will begin at 7 p.m. and will be televised by Fox Sports Southwest. The Texas game on Feb. 6 is expected to be broadcast locally on a network to be announced. The game at SMU on Nov. 23 will also be moved to 8 p.m. to accomodate local television.

Between the two teams are 18 total television appearances, not including Big 12 or NCAA Tournament games. The Fox Sports Southwest appearances are part of a wide-ranging television and marketing agreement that is currently being negotiated between Texas Tech athletics, Host Communications and Fox Sports Southwest.

Mens basketball exhibition games, originally scheduled for Nov. 11 and Nov. 14 have been moved to Nov. 10 against Arkansas Express and Nov. 13 against Global Sports at 7 p.m. There will be no reserved or paid parking available for exhibition games and all parking is free to the general public.
