The 2007-2008 Men's Basketball season begins Saturday afternoon as Texas Tech hosts the Highlanders of the University of California Riverside at the United Spirit Arena. Tip-off is set for 1:00 PM. Everyone attending the game will receive a 2007-2008 Media/Fan Guide.

The game will be televised on the Texas Tech Television Network (TTTN) with game coverage provided outside the Lubbock area and in the Lubbock area. Dave Shore will call the play-by-play. Gregg Elkin will provide the game analysis. In Lubbock, KLBK-TV (CBS) will provide coverage of the game. In the Dallas area, the game can be seen on KFWD-TV Channel 52.

The 2007-2008 Red Raiders feature four new players and ten returnees on their 14-man roster this season. There are four seniors (Charlie Burgess, Tyler Hoffmeister, Esmir Rizvic, and Martin Zeno), five juniors (Rogdrick Craig, Ricardo De Bem, Michael Prince, Damir Suljagic, and Alan Voskuil), two sophomores (Trevor Cook and Decensae White) and three freshmen (John Roberson, D'walyn Roberts, and Mike Singletary).

As the Red Raiders approach the 2007-2008 new season, Bob Knight has 890 career wins and is the all-time career wins leader. As a testament to his dedication as a teacher and his love of the game, coupled with an intense work ethic, Bob Knight has averaged nearly 22 wins with less than 9 losses each season for 41 seasons while graduating 98 percent of his players - and he is doing what a legendary coach does: preparing his next group of student-athletes for the upcoming season.

Mark Finkner will call the courtside action along with Corky Oglesby as analyst on the Texas Tech Sports Network local stations KQBR-FM 99.5 and KFYO-AM 7901340 AM.
