Red Raiders vs. Stanford on Sunday

Lubbock, TX -- The Red Raiders (9-3) play Stanford (8-0) in the Big 12 / Pac-10 Hardwood Series on December 28 at Maples Pavilion in Stanford, California. This is the first trip to Stanford for the Red Raiders.
The game will be televised on FOX Sports Network (FSN). Barry Tompkins will call the play-by-play. Dan Belluomini will provide the game analysis.
Mark Finkner will call Sunday’s courtside action against the Cardinal along with analyst Corky Oglesby on the Texas Tech Sports Network local station KKAM-AM 1340.
The Red Raiders and the Cardinal are meeting for the third time since the series began on December 3, 2006. Stanford has won both previous meetings. The December 3, 2006 game was played at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California and was titled the Pete Newell Challenge. Stanford topped Texas Tech 70-59.
The second meeting was in Dallas at the American Airlines Center and was a “home” game for the Red Raiders by the NCAA since Tech rented the facility and controlled ticket sales.
The Red Raiders held a seven-point lead at the half, 33-26. Stanford outscored Texas Tech in the second half, 36-28 to gain a one-point win, 62-61. Stanford’s Brook Lopez led all scorers with 19 points. Teammates Robin Lopez and Anthony Goods each added 10 points. Texas Tech had two players in the double figures with Martin Zeno scoring 14 points while Alan Voskuil added 13 points.
Stanford is 8-0 on the season. They have four players averaging in double figures for the season. Anthony Goods leads his team in scoring with 18.8 points per game. Lawrence Hill follows with 13.5 points per game. Josh Owens is averaging 12.3 points per game and Landry Fields drops in 10.8 points per game.
After their 67-53 win over Centenary on December 23, the Red Raiders have nine wins and three losses for the season. Four Red Raiders are averaging double figures for the season. John Roberson leads Tech with 16.3 points per game. Alan Voskuil is scoring 14.6 points per game. Nick Okorie is averaging 11.8 points per game. Mike Singletary is averaging 10.7 points per game.
The Red Raiders are back in the United Spirit Arena against Stephen F. Austin on New Year’s Day. The game will begin at 3:00 PM (Central) and will air on the Texas Tech Television Network.
