Texas Tech 41, Missouri 14 September 16, at Lubbock Attendance: 36,242 A preview of future Big 12 Conference action turned into more of a rout by halftime as Texas Tech rolled to its first win of the season 42-14 over Missouri. Byron Hanspard sparked a punishing ground game that netted 305 yards. Zebbie Lethridge completed just six passes but one went 66 yards to Tony Darden for a touchdown giving the Red Raiders an early advantage that soon stretched to 24-7 at intermission. Tony Rogers and Jaret Greaser combined to kick four field goals. Lethridge took the Raiders on an 89-yard scoring drive midway through the second quarter to pad Tech's lead to 21-7. A 21-yard scramble by Lethridge and a 29-yard run by fullback Rod Hobbs were key plays in the drive. Zach Thomas recorded a career-high 20 tackles as the Tigers utilized three quarterbacks in an effort to get something going offensively.
