From The Locker Room . . .
Texas Tech Players:
Zebbie Lethridge - "Their defense was extremely quick and physical. As soon as a hole would open, it would close. I felt like their softest part was in their secondary. Hopefully we are going to rebound and get a chance to play them again."
Robert Johnson - "They made the plays when they had to and we didn't. We gave a lot of effort and it hurts to lose today. We are just going to try to focus on next week."
Byron Hanspard - "Their defense was exactly what I expected, very fast and very physical. I was very disappointed about the fumble, because I felt like it cost us the game. I will try to get my head back on and get to that level of a great back, right now I am not on that level."
Grant Winstrom - "We had too many mental mistakes today. We have got to eliminate those if we are going to be a great defense like we want to be. Hanspard is a great running back. You can't simulate his quickness in practice. I think he is probably one of the best running backs and best athletes in the country. We felt if we made Byron and Zebbie beat us, then we would be able to contain them."
Chris Dishman - "Offensively we shot ourselves in the foot too many times. I thought Scott Frost played well today. I thought little things broke down and made Scott look bad sometimes. We focused the same for everybody on our schedule. We want to run the ball first. That is always our game plan."
Terrell Farley - "Hanspard has had 200 yards a game several times. We don't want to give him the Heisman. So, the best thing we could do is slow him down. They are the most physical team we have seen this season. They are better than Kansas State. It was a good dogfight all day. I looked down (on the fumble for TD) and it rolled by me. So, I picked it up and took it to the end zone."
