Andy Lutz joined Tommy Tuberville's staff in 2010 as the assistant athletics director for football after serving as assistant to the head coach at Auburn for 10 seasons.
One of his primary duties is to organize the recruiting efforst for the Red Raider football progam. Those efforts paid off in a major way in February of 2011 as Tech signed the highest rated recruiting class in school history.
While at Auburn, Lutz organized football and fantasy camps for the football program. Lutz has experience from the University of Mississippi as he was an assistant to the athletics director. He coordinated the recruiting process at Mississippi from 1996-1998. Prior to moving to an administrative position he was an assistant coach for linebackers at Ole Miss.
He started coaching at his alma mater, the University of the Pacific, and handled duties as a recruiter and video coordinator before being becoming a graduate assistant at the University of Nevada-Reno. He served as clinic director at the Frank Glazier Football Clinics from 1990-1998.
Lutz earned his bachelor's degree in public relations from the University of Pacific in 1991 and his master's degree in educational counseling and psychology in 1994. He is a member of the American Football Coaches Association. Lutz and his wife Brandy reside in Lubbock and have a daughter, Aberle.
