Career: A former walk-on who has moved from playing tailback to cornerback ... regularly expected to be beaten out but comes out as a key player ... will enter the fall as the most experienced cornerback on the squad.

1998-99: Started all 11 games of the regular season ... completed season with 36 tackles (22 solo) with two fumble recoveries, five pass deflects and two interceptions ... recovered fumbles in games against Oklahoma State and Texas-El Paso ... intercepted passes versus Colorado and Texas ... recorded season-high eight tackles at Oklahoma ... had four tackles in five games.

1997-98: Saw action primarily on special teams and as a backup cornerback in all 11 games ... recorded five tackles in the game ... notched a season-high two tackles against Kansas State, both solos ... earned team's J T King Award, given to the most improved player during spring drills.

1996-97: Entered two-a-day drills as the starter at cornerback ... played all 11 games as a backup to Tony Darden on the right side ... also saw extensive special teams action ... recorded a career-high three tackles against Southwestern Louisiana ... registered two tackles against Oklahoma State, Baylor, and Georgia ... finished the season with 12 total tackles.

1995-96: Redshirt season.

High School: A 1995 graduate of Slaton High School ... rushed for 5,238 yards (7.3-yard average) and 63 touchdowns in three years ... gained 1,966 yards (9.0 avg.) and scored 32 touchdowns for 8-2 team as senior ... team was 21-8-1 during career ... twice District 5-3A MVP ... all-South Plains three years ... also lettered in basketball, baseball and track ... helped cage team to Region I finals ... two-year starter ... started two years at shortstop ... went to state in 100 and 200 as senior ... student council president ...
