Joe Walker begins his second season as the head strength and conditioning coach for Red Raider football.

Walker joiined the Red Raiders in 2010 after spending two seasons as an assistant strength coach at Auburn, as he joined the Tiger staff in February 2007.

His arrival at Auburn in 2007 was not his first stint with the Tigers as he served as a graduate assistant from May 2003 until May 2005 where he worked directly with the football program then led by Tuberville. Following his graduate assistantship at Auburn, he moved to Texas where he served as an assistant strength coach at TCU from May 2005 until January 2007. Walker also gained experience through brief stints at Kansas State and Pittsburgh.

Walker earned a bachelor's degree in recreation management/fitness option from Lockhaven University in 2002 and a master's degree in adult education from Auburn in 2004.

He and his wife Lauren have two sons, Caden and Colby.
