Senior placekicker Donnie Carona had a career night and also put his name in the school record book. Carona connected on four field goals for a total of 12 points on the night. He nailed two attempts from 49 yards out and both of those kicks marked the second longest of his career. His career-long was a 52-yard FG against Weber State in 2010. The school-record four field goals has been achieved 10 times in school history, and last occurred in 1998 when Chris Birkholz connected on four field goals against Texas.

• Senior Adam James scored Texas Tech's first touchdown of the game that helped tie the score at 7-7. The 2-yard touchdown was his first TD catch of the season and the third of his career.
Alex Torres hauled in his first reception of the game in the first quarter and has now caught at least one pass in 17 consecutive Big 12 games.
• Junior Eric Stephens scored on a 4-yard TD rush with 3:52 remaining in the first half to cut a Texas A&M lead to 24-20. Stephens has now rushed for at least one touchdown in seven consecutive games.
• Junior Eric Ward hauled in his eighth touchdown catch of the season with just over a minute remaining in the third quarter. The TD catch helped cut the A&M lead to 38-30.
Seth Doege set career highs tonight in attempts with 66 and completions with 44.

• Texas Tech scored on its first offensive possession tonight when Adam James caught a 2-yard TD pass from Seth Doege. Prior to tonight's game, Tech had scored on its opening possession just one time - at New Mexico (56-yard TD reception by Darrin Moore).
Adam James' touchdown reception ran Texas Tech's streak of consecutive games with a receiving touchdown to 67 games.
• Texas Tech trailed 31-20 at halftime and has now trailed at the half in four of five games this season.
• Texas Tech piled up four field goals on the night and that is the most by a Tech team since Alex Trlica connected on three against Oklahoma State on Nov. 18, 2006.
• Texas A&M blocked a Texas Tech field goal attempt late in the third quarter and returned it for a touchdown (Terrance Frederick 68-yard return). The last time that happened to the Red Raiders was in 1998 against Oklahoma (Ontei Jones 48-yard return).
