  • Texas Tech won the opening coin toss and elected to receive. Texas Tech is 3-4 this season on the opening coin toss.
  • Inside receiver Grant Walker started in replacement of Robert Johnson while linebacker Paul Williams started in place of Fletcher Session. Johnson and Session both missed the trip to Colorado.

    TECH'S LOSS . . .
  • Gives Head Coach Mike Leach a career record of 52-31 and 28-24 in the Big 12. Leach is in his seventh season at the helm of the Red Raiders.
  • Gives Head Coach Mike Leach a career record of 3-24 when trailing at halftime.
  • Gives Texas Tech back-to-back losses for the first time since the 2003 season. Tech lost back-to-back games in '03 to Oklahoma State and Missouri.
  • Keeps the Red Raiders winless at Folsom Field and is the only Big 12 stadium where the Red Raiders have yet to win a game. Tech is 0-4 all-time at Colorado.

    NOTING THE RED RAIDERS

  • The Colorado touchdown on the Buffalo's opening drive was the first TD allowed by the Tech defense on an opening drive this season.
  • Texas Tech failed to score in the first quarter for the third time this season (Missouri and UTEP were the other games).
  • Colorado's Mason Crosby connected on a 56-yard field goal in the second quarter to make the score 17-0 in favor of the Buffaloes. The 56-yard FG is the longest against the Red Raiders since Jason Ricks of Oklahoma State connected on a 55-yarder back in 2004.
  • Texas Tech was held scoreless in the first half for the first time since the Oklahoma State game last season in Stillwater. The Red Raiders trailed 14-0 at halftime last year in that game against the Cowboys.
  • The last time Texas Tech failed to score in the first three quarters of a game was at Texas in 1999 (Sept. 29). The Red Raiders scored their only seven points of the game in the fourth quarter in a 58-7 loss to the Longhorns.
  • Junior receiver Danny Amendola ended Colorado's shutout attempt when he scored on an 11-yard pass from Graham Harrell with 9:04 remaining in the game.
