Texas Tech Head Coach Kliff Kingsbury

On how Texas Tech prepared for West Virginia

"I knew they had to sit around for two weeks on that Baylor loss, and I know what

type of coach and motivator Dana (Holgorsen) is; I knew they would bring their best

punch. We got up early, but they kept fighting, and I was impressed by their effort.

They have a good ball club."

On junior tight end Jace Amaro

"He said to put it on his shoulders for the second half, so that's what I did. I told him

we were going to get a lot balls to him. When they went up by 11, the ball went his

way and he kept making plays. His size, speed and determination are all a deadly

combination."

On freshman quarterback Davis Webb

"We talk about it all the time. Fortune favors the bold. We're not going to leave it up

to anyone else. We knew it was up to him to make good throws, and today he did

that.

"He's always had the ability. The thing I'm most impressed about is his determination

and work ethic. It puts him in a position to be this type of player. I'm proud of that

more than anything. He had some throws he'd like to have back, but he did well

overall today."

On WVU redshirt-senior running back Charles Sims

"I'm glad to see him have success. He was one of my favorite players to ever coach.

He's an unbelievable player. I was hoping to get him at Texas Tech, but that didn't

work out. I'm glad to see him end up here and have that success. He's a great player."

On the atmosphere in Morgantown

"Our players really enjoyed it. It was hostile, the music got us pumped up and it was

everything I expected and was told. I loved it."

On being 7-0

"I saw ESPN College GameDay and the ones who picked against us. I hope they give

us that locker room material. The players are aware of where they were picked (to

finish) at the beginning of the year. We want to show everyone that we're not that

bad. Let's put it that way."
