Texas Tech Head Coach Mike Leach
On Team performance
"I was really proud of the way the defense played. I thought both halves they set the tone for our team. That was really key in the first drive to hold them to a field goal. I thought our offense rose at key times. I thought we played real well on special teams. Oklahoma State is one of the best special teams in the country."

On Hicks' three receptions
"We had a discussion. It was my opinion that he could whip that guy across from him who's clearly one of the best corners in the league, but I think a lot of Jarrett Hicks. I made a deal and said if you catch it we'll get it to you. We're going to call this play once and if you don't catch it we'll throw it somewhere else. Great player, really competitive."

On Henderson/Mack
"When we roll them in they both really play well. They complement each other really well, and I thought they both did a good job of rushing the football, catching the football."

On The Defense
"I'll tell you what. Our defensive line, there were some key sacks, I saw linebackers, Mike Smith, making some big plays, the whole linebacking crew. I saw Antonio Huffman make some big plays on the those reverses."

"One thing that's really tough about Oklahoma State as far as the running game goes, is that with as many looks and challenges with their formations, it takes a while to adjust to that. It was important for us to hold them down the second quarter because that's their hot quarter."

Senior Offensive Lineman Cody Campbell
On Loper leaving the game
"Glenn January did a great job of stepping up. He really showed the ability that we've known he's had for a long time. But it hurt us emotionally because that guy's our brother."

On Giving Cumbie time
"Every play we strive to give Sonny as much time as we can, and it's an individual battle. Sonny did a good job of finding receivers and the receivers did a good job of getting open."

On his last game in Jones SBC Stadium
"I was just elated to have won the game, but at the same time it's a lot of memories. It's a lot of memories and I thought this day would never come, so it's kind of sad."

Senior Linebacker Mike Smith
"Coach Setencich gave us a great game plan and I'm glad the way things turned out. I've been starting since my redshirt freshman year, and I this has been the best game, the most exciting game. I don't know if it was because of Senior Day, and I'm glad we played like this for Coach Setencich. Seeing his face when I came off the field in the fourth quarter, he sure was proud."

Sophomore Wide Receiver Jarrett Hicks On his concentration
"There was a point in the game where we really needed a play and you rise above yourself. Me and Coach Leach talked about it before that drive on the sideline. He motivated me to make a play and that's what happened."

On three-straight receptions
"I made some adjustments and got it corrected. We talked about it and he (Leach) got in my ear and told me to go out there and make a play."

On OSU's interception, was it a wake up call?
"I think we were up at that point and we really didn't keep our foot on the pedal. We had to buckle down and make some plays."

On Tech's Bowl Situation
"That was the biggest thing for us in preparation these last two weeks, going out and getting a win to make sure our next month or so will be pleasant."

Senior Quarterback Sonny Cumbie On the game
"I think OSU did a great job on offense of running a lot of time off the clock. At the second half we made the adjustment to pick up the tempo and everyone was going at it pretty hard and things turned out well for us."

On the interception
"I've bounced back from a few interceptions this year."

On the season
"It's gone by extremely fast. Not too long ago I was in here getting ready for the SMU game, and it's amazing how fast it's gone by."

On his performance
"I think it was a work in progress. Each week I improved and it was amazing how much the game slowed down since the start of the season."

On the Tech Defense
"Mike Smith, he's a guy that's not going to let you lose. He defines the attitude on that defense and everyone really rallies around him. You have to give hats off to the defense for the way they performed."

On the running backs play
"Johnnie Mack, Taurean (Henderson) did a great job, the offensive line blocked their tails off up front."
