AMARO MOVES INTO 5TH PLACE IN SCHOOL HISTORY FOR SINGLE-SEASON RECEIVING YARDS
Junior tight end Jace Amaro made six catches for 83 yards moving him into fifth place in school history for single-season receiving yards with 1,240 yards... Tonight's effort moved Amaro past Michael Crabtree (1,165 - 2008), Jarrett Hicks (1,777 - 2004) and Carlos Francis (1,777 - 2003).
Amaro caught an 11-yard touchdown pass from Michael Brewer - his seventh touchdown of the season (13th career).
SMITH RECORDS CAREER-HIGH IN TACKLES FOR SECOND STRAIGHT GAME - MOST TACKLES IN A GAME SINCE 2005
Senior linebacker Will Smith recorded a career-high in tackles for the second consecutive game with 18 tackles (13 solo) - which marks the most tackles in a single-game by a Red Raider since 2005 (Dwayne Slay - 18 at Baylor)... Smith has totaled 34 tackles over the last two games... Smith tallied 16 tackles (13 solo) against No. 4 Baylor in Week 11 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
WARD HAS SECOND STRAIGHT IMPRESSIVE PERFORMANCE AT DARRELL K ROYAL - TEXAS MEMORIAL STADIUM
Senior WR Eric Ward had his second straight impressive performance at Texas with a team-leading eight catches for 88 yards... As a sophomore in 2011, Ward led the Red Raiders with eight catches and 75 yards with a receiving touchdown.

Senior punter Ryan Erxeleben scored the first points of the game when he scored on a 51-yard fake punt at the 9:44 mark of the first quarter. The run was the longest of the season by any Texas Tech player. The last Tech player to score on a 50-plus yard rush was SaDale Foster last year against West Virginia.
Senior linebacker Will Smith picked up his fifth sack of the season late in the first quarter.
Junior kicker Ryan Bustin made his 22nd field goal of the season as time expired before halftime with a 32-yard field goal cutting the Longhorns lead to 10 points, 20-10 at the half.
Senior defensive back Tre' Porter picked up his first fumble recovery of the season on Texas' first drive of the second half.
Freshman DB Tanner Jacobson forced and recovered a fumble in the fourth quarter - his second forced fumble of the season and first fumble recovery.
Sophomore QB Michael Brewer (Lake Travis, Texas) entered in the fourth quarter - his first appearance since the Kansas game - and led Tech to its first and only offensive score of the game with 3-of-4 passing for 38 yards and threw an 11-yard touchdown pass (1st of the season/5th career) to Amaro... That score cut Texas' lead to 34-16... Brewer finished the game 7-of-8 for 65 yards passing and a touchdown.
Junior receiver Bradley Marquez finished with three catches for 23 yards... He has caught at least one pass in 28-of-30 career games played as a Red Raider.
Freshman receiver Reginald Davis finished with career-highs in both receptions (4) and receiving yards (33).
Sophomore linebacker Micah Awe finished with a career-high 11 tackles.
Freshman defensive back Tanner Jacobson finished with a career-high 10 tackles.
Senior defensive back Ola Falemi tallied a career-high eight tackles.
Texas Tech scored its first points of the game on special teams (faked punt). It marked Tech's first special teams score of the season.
Texas Tech extended its school record consecutive game scoring streak to 206 games with a touchdown in the first quarter. The streak is the second longest active streak in the Big 12. Of those 206 games, Texas Tech has scored in double digits 192 times.
The last time Texas Tech scored a touchdown to take the early lead over Texas at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium was in 2003 when Taurean Henderson put Tech ahead 6-0 on a five-yard run (the extra point was blocked).
Tech allowed six sacks in the first half - marked the most sacks allowed by the Red Raiders in a game since giving up six at No. 2 Texas in 2005.
Tech finished the game allowing nine sacks, its most sacks allowed in over 13 years.
