LUBBOCK, Texas - College football fans voted Texas Tech as the Pontiac Game Changing Performance of the Year for the 2008 NCAA® Football Season. As a result of their win, Texas Tech has earned a $100,000 contribution from Pontiac to their general scholarship fund.

In the most exciting game of the season, then-ranked #7 Texas Tech delivered a momentous upset over then-ranked #1 Texas 39-33. With only one second remaining in the game and the Red Raiders trailing by one point, sophomore wide receiver Michael Crabtree caught a 28-yard touchdown pass from senior quarterback Graham Harrell to win the game and earn Texas Tech a Pontiac Game Changing Performance for the tenth week of the 2008 NCAA Football Season.

Beginning December 5 and ending at midnight on January 6, four rounds of voting culminated on Thursday when FOX announced Texas Tech's Pontiac Game Changing Performance of the Year during the BCS Championship Game.

The Pontiac Game Changing Performance recognizes the most dramatic moments that occur in NCAA games across the country, moments that change the outcome of the game or define a season. The program provides fans the opportunity to vote on the performance they believe is the biggest game changer.

"Pontiac has created a successful program that has a positive impact academically and athletically. Teams get deserved recognition for their accomplishments and all students have an opportunity to benefit from the general scholarship fund, so it's a win-win situation," said Kirk Herbstreit, ESPN GameDay Analyst.
