Red Raiders in The NFL Playoff Edition: Wild Card Round

There were two former Red Raiders that participated in this past weekends Wildcard round of the NFL playoffs. There are seven total Red Raiders still alive in the playoffs that will be playing this coming weekend.

Bront Bird (LB) San Diego Chargers
Wild Card Round Matchup: Chargers-27 Cincinnati-10

Bront Bird had one tackle in Sunday's wild card victory over the Cincinnati Bengals as the Charger's defense forced two fumbles and two interceptions. This along with his 28 regular season tackles combine for the most in his three-year NFL career. The Chargers advance and will go on the road to play the Denver Bronco's next Sunday. Bird played four seasons at Tech (2007-2010) and signed as an undrafted free agent in 2011 with the San Diego Chargers.

Michael Crabtree (WR) San Francisco 49ers
Wild Card Round Matchup: 49ers-23 Packers-20

In a rematch of a week one nail-biter, the 49ers once again took down the Green Bay Packers as they now advance to second round of the playoffs. In the victory Crabtree led the offense with eight receptions for 125 yards, averaging 15.6 yards per reception. The Niners will once again go on the road as they travel to Carolina to take on the Panthers Sunday afternoon. Crabtree Played two seasons at Tech (2007-2008) and was selected as the 10th overall pick 2009 NFL draft by the San Francisco 49ers.
