LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech senior center Toby Cecil (Richardson, Texas) kicks off one more time as a collegiate football player at the Las Vegas All-American Classic at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, Nev., Sat., Jan. 17. Kickoff is set for 10:30 a.m. (CT) and the game will be televised on College Sports Television (CSTV - DirectTV Channel 610).

Cecil, one of three Tech invites to the NFL Combine in March (WR Carlos Francis, QB B.J. Symons), finished his career at Tech as one of the most dominant centers in school history. He helped pave the way for two NCAA record-setting quarterbacks and led an offensive line that helped Tech earn two NCAA passing titles and one NCAA total offense title.

Additionally, Cecil set the Texas Tech record for career starts and games played with 50. He ranked second among the country's active offensive linemen throughout the 2003 season in career starts.

Cecil is the first Tech center to play in the postseason since Scott Fitzgerald's appearance in the 1996 East-West Shrine Game and is only the second offensive lineman (Rex Richards in 2003 Hula Bowl) since 1997 to play in a postseason game. Casey Jones (Hula Bowl) and Ben Kaufman (Senior Bowl) each played in postseason games following the 1997 season.
