LUBBOCK, Texas - Former standout Texas Tech quarterback Rodney Allison will be recognized at the Texas Tech-Kansas State men's basketball game on Saturday in the United Spirit Arena.

Allison, a native of Odessa, was a Texas Tech Athletic Hall of Honor inductee last fall, but could not attend the ceremony because of head coaching commitments at Tennessee-Chattanooga.

Allison will be honored during a pre-game ceremony shortly before the 6 p.m. tip-off and will be available to the public at the arena's City Bank Room during halftime.

He quarterbacked the Red Raiders to a 10-1 regular season record in 1976 and an national ranking as high as No. 5. His coaching stints include Texas Tech, Duke, Southern Mississippi, Auburn and Clemson before being named the head coach at Tennessee-Chattanooga last year by athletic director Steve Sloan.
