The annual spring football game and a Big 12 Conference baseball series against the University of Oklahoma are two exciting reasons to spend the weekend with Texas Tech Athletics in Lubbock, March 23-25.
The weekend begins on Friday evening as the Red Raider Baseball team opens up a three-game Big 12 series against No. 27 Oklahoma at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park at 6:30 p.m. The series continues at 5 p.m. on Saturday (following the Spring Game) and at 1 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are priced at $9 for adults, $7 for youth and family four-packs are available for $20. Fans that purchase football spring game tickets can redeem that same ticket for a free baseball ticket at Saturday's baseball game.
Red Raider fans will get their first look at their 2012 football team on Saturday afternoon with the kickoff of the annual spring game at 1 p.m. inside Jones AT&T Stadium. Tickets for the spring game are priced at $5 while stadium club seats are $20. Children 18-and-under do not require a ticket and all Texas Tech students will be admitted free by presenting university identification.
Following the spring game, there will be a one-hour autograph session held on the field and fans will be allowed to bring one item for autographs. Additionally, the athletics department will distribute 4,000 commemorative posters that can be used in the autograph session.
The spring game will be televised locally on Fox 34 (Ramar Communications); Suddenlink Channel 10/11, U-Verse Channel 34/1034 and Over The Air 34.1. Double T 104.3 will carry the Texas Tech Sports Network broadcast on 104.3 FM in Lubbock. A free webcast of the game will be provided by Texas Tech Athletics on RaiderVision All-Access (texastech.com).
