TECH WRAPS UP SPRING PRACTICE
Texas Tech completed it spring practice session on Sat., March 26 with the annual spring game at Jones AT&T Stadium. The March 26 Spring Game signaled the earliest end to spring practice in over a decade for the Texas Tech football program. The Red Raiders began spring drills back on Feb. 20 and were the third Division I program to get started behind Army and Duke (both Army and Duke started on Feb. 19). Coach Tuberville was known for his early spring practice periods while at Auburn and carried this philosophy to Texas Tech. Longer offseason and recuperation time for injuries are two of his main reasons for holding the early practice.

OVER 12,000 ATTEND SPRING GAME
An announced crowd of 12,400 fans came through the turnstiles at Jones AT&T Stadium for the 2011 Spring Game on March 26. The Black team, quarterbacked by Scotty Young, prevailed in the contest over the Red team 27-26. Young may have been on the winning team but Seth Doege was the most impressive, throwing for 317 yards (20-of-35), four touchdowns and just one interception. Junior Austin Zouzalik led the offense with 75 receiving yards. Defensively, D.J. Johnson and Cqulin Hubert led the way with eight tackles each while Hubert also added a pair of sacks. Daniel Cobb recorded the only turnover of the game with an interception of Doege (22 yards).
