April 4, 2007

LUBBOCK, Texas - Fun! Exciting! Entertaining! All are words to describe this year's annual Red-Black Game at Jones AT&T Stadium on April 14 as a myriad of activities are planned for fans in conjunction with the game. Activities begin at 11 a.m., culminating with the Red-Black Game at 1 p.m. This year's game is presented by McDougal Companies.

Highlighting the pre-game festivities is a tailgating contest in the west stadium parking lot sponsored by KLLL. Two winners will be selected from the general fan base and the Tech Greek community. The fan winner will receive a season-long parking pass for the 2007 football season, while the Greek winner picks up two roundtrip tickets on Southwest Airlines. Tailgaters will be judged on creativity, number of fans enjoying the tailgate, entertainment aspects of the tailgate and Tech spirit.

Immediately following the Red-Black Game, the Texas Tech Football team will be on hand to sign autographs on the field. Fans are encouraged to bring items for autograph. Autograph cards also will be available free of charge.

The day kicks off at 11 a.m. with a free football clinic on the Jones AT&T Stadium turf for students in the eighth grade and below. The hour-long session will be conducted by members of the Texas Tech football team. Interested participants can check-in at the stadium at the southeast ramp just prior to the start of the clinic.

Raider Alley also will open at 11 a.m. with food and merchandise vendors set up and will continue through kickoff of the spring game. The hour-long annual alumni game kicks off at noon.

All fans will be seated on the west side of the stadium and gates will open at 11 a.m. Roster cards will be distributed to the first 5,000 fans. There is no admission charge for the game or parking. The Goin' Band from Raiderland and spirit squad groups will be on hand to lead the crowd in cheers.

A new twist to this year's Red-Black Game is the addition of a defensive scoring system. The defensive will be credited seven points for a touchdown, three points for a turnover, two points for a three and out, one point for a sack and a point for a turnover on downs. In the past, the offense has been the only group credited with points.

The game will be webcast live at www.texastech.com via RaiderVision All-Access.
