LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech's annual Red-Black football game will kick off Sat., April 19, at 1 p.m. (CT) at Jones SBC Stadium, giving Tech fans a preview of the 2003 Red Raider football team. Texas Tech football alumni will open the event with a flag football game at noon.

Admission and parking is free for the event and gates open at 11:30 a.m. Tech fans are asked to enter the stadium at Gate 4 at the southeast entrance and sit on the stadium's east side in one of the $99 season ticket locations for the 2003 season. Red Raider fans also are invited to the field for an autograph and photograph session immediately following the scrimmage.

The Red Raiders have been working through spring drills over the last two weeks and culminate spring practice with the Red-Black Game. Featured among the stars of the 2003 Red Raiders are preseason All-American Wes Welker and All-America candidate Ryan Aycock.

In addition to the Alumni and Red-Black games, the local media will face off against the Raider Recruiters in a flag football game at halftime of the Red-Black Game.

The Red Raiders open the 2003 campaign against SMU Sat., Aug. 30, at Jones SBC Stadium.
