LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech offensive lineman Rex Richards, linebacker Lawrence Flugence and defensive back Joselio Hanson each signed a free agent deal today. Richards will be heading to the Indianapolis Colts, while Flugence is going to the Carolina Panthers and Hanson to the San Francisco 49ers.

Richards, a native of Midland, Texas, quickly became one of the premier linemen in the Big 12 Conference as a starter during his freshman season. As his career progressed, he became one of the best in the country. Richards anchored an offensive line that enabled Kliff Kingsbury to establish himself as one of the country's top quarterbacks. During his senior season, Richards graded out at 90 percent and did not commit a penalty or allow a sack.

The Klein, Texas native, Flugence led the Big 12 Conference each of the last three seasons in tackles and led the nation during the last two. He set the NCAA single-season tackles record in 2002 with 194 and finished his career with a Tech and Big 12 record 500 stops.

Hanson, from Inglewood, Calif., finished 2002 with team highs of 21 broken up passes and three interceptions. The 21 passes broken up is also at Tech single-season record. He also had 77 tackles as he started all 14 games for the Red Raiders. Hanson finished his two-year career at Tech with 41 broken up passes.
